The finance chief of Lancashire consultancy Inspired Energy has told Insider the company would continue to ‘actively seek’ acquisitions targets following a positive set of half-year results.
David Foreman said the Kirkham-based business, which was the only North West company to float in 2011, was currently in discussions with two targets in the sectors.
Last year, it acquired Bolton-based Direct Energy Purchasing (DEP) for up to £4m.
AIM-listed Inspired Energy is a UK energy procurement consultant to UK corporates whose clients include Müller Dairies, Kwik-Fit and B&M Retail.
It yesterday (19 August 2013) posted pre-tax profit of £802,908 on sales £3.5m for the half year July 2013.
Foreman said: “We’ve seen a couple of big deals recently, including Vitruvian buying Inenco, which just goes to show that people are beginning to understand what market expertise in this area can do.
“We’re keen to continue growing strongly and organically but we’re definitely looking for more acquisitions to replicate the success we’ve had so far with DEP.
